Theresa Neff: Hi, Theresa Neff with GSC Logistics. I’m here with David Rainwater, Hi David.
David Rainwater: Hey Theresa, how are you?
Theresa Neff: I’m good, thanks for asking. So David, we get this question a lot and we run into it with our clients, especially now that bid season has wrapped up. But, can you tell me a little bit about the benefits of dual sourcing versus single sourcing?
David Rainwater: Sure. So, let’s talk about first what we mean by single sourcing or dual sourcing. So this is when a client, whether import or export, decide to partner with a single dray provider or use multiple providers. And there really are benefits to both. So, let’s talk first about if they choose to use multiple providers. Now, one of the benefits to that is, you do have an opportunity to kind of compare services. How do they communicate? What’s their responsiveness like? And, then also from a rate standpoint, you kind of have an opportunity to compare that kind of keeping them both honest, if you will. So, these are just a few of the benefits of using multiple providers. Now let’s contrast that with using a single Source provider like a GSC, for instance. You will have a dedicated driver cool specific to your business. You’ll have a dedicated Client Services representative once again specific to your business. And, I think ultimately one of the things that happens is when you start to partner with the provider and over the period of time, you’re going to find a way to drive efficiencies, and really get to know that business. And, hopefully this ends up in reduced cost. I hope that helps.
Theresa Neff: David, those are great responses and great benefits. There’s no one right way so to speak. I guess it just really depends on the client and the volume of business. I appreciate your time. I look forward to speaking to you again on other topics. Have a great day. Thank you.
David Rainwater: Take Care
